A "hard reset" should only be performed on an iPad when it is not working properly and all other potential solutions have not worked. To perform the hard reset, please do the following:

  • Hold down (and continue to hold down) the Home button and the On/Off/Sleep button until the iPad turns off all on its own (do not use the power off slider) — this usually take 7-10 seconds.
  • Turn the iPad back on using the On/Off/Sleep button
