Carondelet Catholic School is aware that some middle school students are periodically having problems with Google Classroom. Because the issue appears to be random and intermittent, it is hard to know what is the cause, or causes, of this problem. We have submitted a help ticket to Google Support. For the time being, here are the best recommendations at this time to help "fix" this problem:

  • Make sure that the iPad has the most recent version of iOS installed (Settings>General>Software Update)
  • Make sure that the most recent version of Google Classroom is installed (select "Reinstall" for Google Classroom in Self Service). It is also a good idea to reinstall Google Drive and Google Docs (or Google Sheets, or Google Slides, basically whatever type of file you are working on within Classroom) from Self Service to make sure that they are completely up to date as well.
  • If the problem persists even after everything is updated, delete the Google Classroom app and then install it again from Self Service

While these suggestions seem to be effective at resolving this problem, they sometimes do not. If the student continues to have problems after trying the suggestions above, she or he should submit a tech help ticket.
