Online safety is a challenge that all schools face, but at the same time schools must also provide students with the tools and information necessary to succeed and become life long learners. Carondelet Catholic School provides students with access to devices such as mobile lab Chromebooks, classroom shared iPads, and middle school 1:1 iPads to reach the established learning goals. These devices are configured to route all internet traffic through our web content filtering solution Securly, which blocks inappropriate online content, even when students take the school supplied devices home or to a coffee shop.

Most students nowadays may also have a mobile device available at home to complete homework or online research for projects, and time on these devices is also time that exposes them to harmful content. Because of that, Carondelet Catholic School strongly urges parents to consider enabling parental controls and/or web content filtering solutions to help re-enforce student online safety at home.

(Please note the the list below is non-exhaustive and that Carondelet does not benefit in any way by suggesting the products below. These are suggestions only.)

Periodic conversations with students regarding safety can also help prevent incidents.
